2025 Kia Sorento vs 2025 Kia Telluride

Serving Highland, IN

The Kia Sorento is one of the few compact crossover SUVs that can accommodate up to seven passengers. The midsize Telluride is also a three-row model. Both popular models benefit from extensive improvements in the 2025 model year. Our sales associates at Thomas Kia of Highland can help you compare your options in detail.

Performance

The lower trims for the 2025 Kia Sorento have a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter gas engine. This is a 191-horsepower engine that mates with an eight-speed auto transmission. Higher Sorento trims come with a four-cylinder, turbo 2.5-liter, 281-horsepower engine, and a dual-clutch, eight-speed auto transmission. Most trims have front-wheel drive, and the top SX Prestige trim has standard all-wheel drive. The 2025 Kia Telluride, on the other hand, comes with one powertrain across its trim levels. This is a 291-horsepower, 3.8-liter, V6 engine with an eight-speed auto transmission. Like the Sorento, all of its trims have front-wheel drive, with one exception. The Telluride SX Prestige has all-wheel drive. Some trims have an enhanced towing capacity, a lifted suspension, and a self-leveling rear suspension.

Appearance

The Sorento has a sporty look, tapered roof, and raked side mirrors. The well-defined sides are accompanied by lower-body black molding. The large, bow tie-style grille has a squared-off look. The three-bulb headlights link to the grille and are underscored by a bent LED bar. The Telluride has a taller stance with a boxy profile. The bow tie-style grille and the rectangular bumper are outlined in metallic trim. The LED headlights stand vertically.

Features

Depending on which Sorento trim you select, you could enjoy features like a Bose sound system with 12 speakers, a blind-spot camera, leather upholstery, a household power outlet, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument panel, second-row captain's chairs, a hands-free liftgate, lane centering, a 10.25-inch touch display screen, an integrated navigation system, a wireless charging station, heated front seats, lane keeping and others. The Telluride builds on these features with a 12.3-inch touch display screen, seating for eight passengers, a smart-opening hands-free liftgate, sound-absorbing glass, dual sunroofs, driver's memory settings, a blind-spot view monitor, highway driving assist, a head-up display, and a few additional features.
