 What's New for the 2025 Kia Sorento?

The Kia Sorento is one of the few compact SUVs with a third row of seats. In 2025, it will be a mid-generation model with exciting updates. While the gas-powered Sorento trim levels will remain unchanged, hybrid and plug-in hybrid options will now be available.

The gas engine is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder unit that generates 191 horsepower. An eight-speed auto transmission and front-wheel drive. The Sorento Hybrid has a four-cylinder, turbo, 1.6-liter hybrid powertrain that produces 227 horsepower. It comes with a six-speed auto transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional. The plug-in hybrid system mates an electric motor with a four-cylinder, turbo 1.6-liter engine. It pairs with a six-speed auto transmission and produces 261 total horsepower. Torque-vectoring all-wheel drive is standard.

The 2025 Kia Sorento's modern design is unchanged from the previous model year. This SUV stands tall with a modest slope over the roof and deeply scooped side panels. The wheel design features four U-shaped spokes. At the front, the rectangular grille runs across most of the surface. The headlights are styled with a stack of three LED bulbs and an angled LED bar. The front bumper is powerfully designed with black and body-colored elements, and sleek air vents flank it.

The Sorento's entry-level LX trim level features a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, wireless smartphone app connections, a six-speaker sound system, rear and front auto braking, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, intersection collision mitigation and a blind-spot warning system. Higher Sorento trims also have leather upholstery, rear sunshades, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a Bose premium sound system, a household power outlet, a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument panel, a 360-degree camera system, numerous additional features.
